Level Funded Underwriter - 248062
We are hiring a fully remote Level Funded Underwriter for a great insurance organization! This is a direct hire opportunity with benefits Candidates must be located in Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois or Florida Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 based on prior experience Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite 6–8 small group cases per day and up to 12 cases per day during Q4 peak season to support new business growth.
- Evaluate risk and determine pricing for level funded small group health insurance plans.
- Conduct detailed risk reviews, including analysis of claims history, census data, and group demographics.
- Utilize database underwriting tools to analyze and assess group risk profiles.
- Apply underwriting guidelines and company policies to determine acceptance, pricing, or required adjustments.
- Collaborate with sales, account management, and internal teams to support the quoting and proposal process.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and turnaround expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in small group health insurance underwriting
- Experience underwriting Level Funded small group plans
- At least 1 year of experience using database underwriting tools
- Strong risk assessment and risk review experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, formulas, and spreadsheet management)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment
Schedule
- 40-hour work week
- Operating hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- Start time between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM CST
- Employees must maintain a consistent weekly schedule
