Tax Services Supervisor/Manager

Position Overview: Our company is an established full-service CPA firm looking to add a Tax Services Supervisor/Manager to expand our leadership team. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced tax accountant who is ready to ditch the tax season grind and join a technology forward firm that serves its growing clients while still maintaining a life outside of work. This position works directly with clients to help them achieve their goals by providing timely and accurate accounting information and tax compliance. This is a part-time, remote, work-from-home position with the main office located in St. Louis, MO. This person will report directly to the CEO. We do this by providing high-end accounting services including bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement and tax preparation as well as teaching financial literacy and accounting skills to empower business owners to know their numbers. Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations: The Tax Services Supervisor/Manager works as part of the fulfillment team and must be detail-oriented and due date driven. The role requires the ability to manage multiple tax clients, manage the members of the tax team and be responsible for managing workload to the tax deadlines. This position requires a high level of problem-solving ability as well as strong formal and informal communication skills. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and reviewing complex individual and business returns (all types)
• Reviewing returns prepared by the team
• Communicating with tax clients regarding in-process and completed returns
• Preparing tax plans and projections
• Reviewing and responding to tax correspondence
• Providing monthly accounting support for select business clients
• Being an integral part of the team
• Training to stay current on software changes, tax law updates, and accounting rules
• Being a key person on the firm leadership team

Minimum Requirements: You must:

• Have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (CPA or EA required)
• Have at least 5 years of current tax preparation and review experience
• Be immediately available for 10 - 15 hours per week with the opportunity to grow to up to 30 hours
• Be able to meet and manage deadlines
• Be available for one leadership meeting per week
• Have the desire and ABILITY to learn
• Be comfortable with technology
• Have outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), and be able to provide written and verbal feedback to clients and team relating to tax returns
• Be EXTREMELY detail-oriented.

You’d have an advantage if you:

• Have previous public accounting experience
• Have worked with Drake Tax/Canopy Tax/Microsoft 365

This Position is for you if:

• You are able to work 10-20 hours a week from home DURING BUSINESS HOURS, 12 months a year
• You have a strong desire to serve clients by providing high quality outputs and soothing their concerns and confusion over their numbers

• You are a team player, willing to do what it takes to make things happen
• You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to be productive without heavy supervision.

• Want a full-time position plus overtime - this is permanent part-time
• Only want to learn from us in order to leave to start your own firm.
