Position Summary Scope Health & Wellness is seeking a mission-driven Grants Manager / Grant Writer to lead and grow our grant funding strategy, with a primary goal of securing a minimum of $500,000 annually to support operational costs and program expansion. This role is ideal for someone passionate about mental health equity, particularly for youth without Medicaid or access to affordable care. The Grants Manager will play a critical role in advancing our vision by identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and building strong relationships with funders.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Strategy & Development (70%)
- Lead the organization’s grant strategy to secure $500,000+ annually in funding
- Identify, research, and pursue new grant opportunities aligned with our mission
- Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals and applications
- Manage a portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government grants
- Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines and submissions
- Build and maintain relationships with funders and grant-making organizations
- Collaborate with leadership to align funding strategies with organizational goals
- Stay informed on trends in mental health funding and youth services
Grant Management & Reporting (20%)
- Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and guidelines
- Track grant outcomes, metrics, and program impact
- Prepare and submit timely interim and final grant reports
- Work with program staff to collect data and stories for reporting
- Monitor funding renewals and sustainability opportunities
Data, Communications & Collaboration (10%)
- Translate program data into compelling narratives for proposals and reports
- Support the development of impact reports and donor communications
- Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment in messaging and outcomes
- Contribute to strengthening organizational storytelling and brand voice
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of grant writing and grants management experience
- Proven track record of securing $200K+ annually in grant funding (preferred)
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience synthesizing data into clear, compelling narratives
- Proficiency with databases such as Raiser's Edge or comparable CRM systems for tracking grants and donor information
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadline management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mental health, youth services, or healthcare nonprofits
- Knowledge of funding streams for underserved or uninsured populations
- Experience with program evaluation and impact measurement
- Familiarity with foundations and funders focused on health equity
