Principal Network Engineer, Global Operations
Our client is actively recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Principal Network Engineer to join their dynamic, remote-first global operations team. In this fully remote position, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's complex global network infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco), VPNs, and WAN optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our network across all locations, troubleshooting advanced issues, and proactively identifying potential problems before they impact operations. The Principal Network Engineer will also play a key role in capacity planning, network architecture development, and the evaluation and adoption of new network technologies. This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering robust and scalable network solutions. You will collaborate with other engineering teams, IT support, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective network designs. Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Python) and cloud networking concepts (AWS VPC, Azure VNet) is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a proven track record of successfully managing critical network infrastructure in a distributed environment.
