Job Description: We're looking for a skilled Shopify Engineer to help build, customize, and scale high-performing eCommerce experiences. You'll work closely with design, product, and marketing teams to deliver seamless storefronts, optimize performance, and implement robust backend integrations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, user experience, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Shopify storefronts using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Customize Shopify themes and build reusable components
- Integrate third-party apps, APIs, and services (payments, shipping, CRM, etc.)
- Optimize site performance, speed, and conversion rates
- Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX into functional experiences
- Troubleshoot bugs, implement fixes, and ensure cross-browser/device compatibility
- Manage Shopify Plus features (if applicable), including Scripts and Functions
- Maintain clean, scalable, and well-documented code
- Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates and eCommerce trends
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing on Shopify (Shopify Plus experience is a plus)
- Strong proficiency in Liquid templating language
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience with performance optimization and SEO best practices
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with headless commerce architectures (e.g., Hydrogen, React)
- Familiarity with modern frameworks (React, Next.js)
- Experience in CRO (conversion rate optimization)
- Exposure to analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
