Backend Software Engineer (Python)

RESPONSIBILITIES: OpenKyber's client in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to support enterprise-level API engineering initiatives. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining scalable .NET-based APIs within a modern microservices architecture.This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong backend development experience and exposure to cloud-native and DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET and C#
• Build scalable microservices-based applications
• Develop and support web applications and backend services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure high availability and scalability of systems
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with:
• .NET/C#
• RESTful API development
• Microservices architecture
• SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React, Angular, or Vue)
• Python
• Git version control
• Agile methodologies
• Experience with:
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD practices
• Application performance monitoring and troubleshooting
• Scalability and high availability design
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.)
• Understanding of serverless architecture
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• DevOps awareness and CI/CD pipeline familiarity
• Financial services or banking domain experience
• Additional Information:
• Cloud experience is a plus but not required
