Palate Project is a U.S.-based company rethinking how Japanese sake reaches American consumers. For decades, the category has been shaped by a complex supply chain that often limits selection, transparency, freshness, and pricing. Our mission is to build a more direct connection between breweries in Japan and drinkers in the United States. - *part-time PR & Media Outreach Operator**
to help increase awareness of our story and build relationships with media, writers, and creators in the food, beverage, and startup ecosystem. This role focuses on the operational side of PR: researching journalists, crafting pitches, coordinating outreach, and helping bring our story to the right audiences. ResponsibilitiesMedia Research Identify and maintain a list of journalists covering
- wine and spirits
- food culture
- startups and supply chains
- Japanese culture and craft products
Media Outreach Support founder-led PR efforts by
- drafting pitch emails
- sending outreach messages
- coordinating interviews
Story Development Help refine story angles such as
- the evolution of sake in the U.S.
- supply chain challenges in alcohol distribution
- fresh nama sake and cold chain logistics
Creator Partnerships Research and reach out to
- YouTube creators
- food and beverage influencers
- wine and spirits educators
PR Tracking Maintain a CRM or tracker for
- journalist contacts
- outreach status
- media coverage
Ideal Candidate We are less focused on traditional PR credentials and more interested in someone who is:
- an excellent English writer
- curious and research-driven
- comfortable reaching out to journalists and creators
- interested in food, beverage, culture, or startups
Backgrounds that may fit well include
- journalism

- PR agency experience
Skills Preferred

Time Commitment Part-time 10–20 hours per week Flexible schedule. Compensation $30–$45 per hour depending on experience.
