Remote Senior Insurance Actuary
Our client, a leading innovator in the insurance sector, is seeking an accomplished Senior Insurance Actuary to join their entirely remote workforce. This pivotal role involves sophisticated analysis, pricing, reserving, and risk management for a diverse portfolio of insurance products. You will leverage your advanced actuarial skills, deep understanding of statistical modeling, and comprehensive knowledge of the insurance market to drive profitability and ensure the financial soundness of our operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, adept at complex problem-solving, and passionate about advancing actuarial science within a flexible, remote setting. Responsibilities: Develop and implement actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections across various insurance lines. Perform complex data analysis and statistical modeling to assess risks and inform business decisions. Conduct profitability studies and recommend adjustments to pricing strategies and product offerings. Develop and maintain valuation models for reserves, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with product development, underwriting, and claims departments to provide actuarial support and insights. Stay abreast of emerging actuarial trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. Mentor junior actuaries and contribute to the professional development of the actuarial team. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. Evaluate the financial impact of new regulations and market developments. Contribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial software and tools. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Associate (ACAS/AMIA) or Fellow (FCAS/FIA) designation from a recognized actuarial society is required. 5+ years of progressive experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on actuarial analysis. Proven expertise in actuarial modeling, pricing, reserving, and risk management techniques. Proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Prophet) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote work environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
