Position Overview We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Tax Preparer to support our growing tax department. This is a hands-on boutique tax role best suited for someone who enjoys preparing returns, working through complex client data, and supporting multiple areas of the tax process. This role is focused on execution and preparation, with the opportunity to grow into more advanced responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare 1040, 1120S, 1065, and entity tax returns Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules Work daily in UltraTax Identify inconsistencies in financials and assist with basic cleanup Assist with IRS and state tax notices (support role) Support audit and tax-related matters as needed Assist with gathering missing client documentation and follow-ups Communicate with team members regarding return status and questions Support multiple areas of tax operations in a boutique firm environment

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of hands-on UltraTax experience required Experience preparing both individual and business tax returns 3+ years in a tax firm or public accounting environment Strong experience with: 1040 1120S 1065 Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously Strong communication skills and attention to detail Comfortable working remotely with technology Nice to Have (Not Required) Enrolled Agent (EA) or pursuing Exposure to tax notices or audit support Experience with bookkeeping or QuickBooks Core Attributes Detail-oriented and accuracy-focused Organized and reliable Strong work ethic and accountability Fast learner and adaptable in a growing environment Comfortable supporting multiple areas of tax work Job Details Full-time, remote position Temp-to-hire (60–90 days) with long-term opportunity Pay: $38.00–$45.00 per hour Flexible schedule with availability required Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm PST Must be authorized to work in the United States
