Billing Accountant (Strong Internal) (Remote) 2026-1466
Overview
This role is for a Billing Accountant responsible for managing the full cycle of Accounts Receivable activities within a dynamic Finance team. The position involves supporting Department of Labor (DOL) billings and program administration to ensure timely and accurate client billing, tracking receivables, and resolving aged balances. Key tasks include preparing customer invoices, processing vendor and subcontractor invoices, and monitoring payments. The position reports to the Project Controller.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post bills, invoices, and receipts accurately. Ensure all billing documents comply with federal regulations and contract terms. Receive training to become proficient in client-specific billing processes, including government portal usage. Monitor account statuses and balances on a weekly basis. Identify and resolve inconsistencies in accounts receivable. Verify payments against invoices to ensure financial data accuracy. Reconcile vendor bills and monitor vendor accounts payable for bi-weekly payments. Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal teams. Provide guidance and support for invoicing, billing corrections, and collections.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. Minimum of 1 year accounting experience; alternatively, 2-3 years of billing experience may be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proactive self-starter. United States citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the "public trust" level.
