The Role of a Patient Care Advocate
As a Patient Care Advocate, you'll play a vital role in helping patients navigate their pharmacy benefits, address concerns, and receive personalized support. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring patients receive the best possible care and advice. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Responding to phone inquiries from patients, providing empathetic and detailed support
- Documenting patient interactions in real-time, using expert listening skills to understand patient concerns
- Identifying and addressing patient concerns, escalating issues as necessary
- Collaborating with the team to provide comprehensive support and guidance to patients
- Staying up-to-date with training and education to enhance patient care and support
Key Responsibilities
* Help patients understand their pharmacy benefits and provide guidance on how to navigate the system
- Use expert listening skills to quickly identify and address patient concerns
- Document patient interactions in real-time, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records
- Collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive support and guidance to patients
- Stay up-to-date with training and education to enhance patient care and support
- Identify and escalate patient concerns as necessary, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Essential Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED required
- College degree or Junior College degree with a healthcare focus preferred
- 1 year of relevant customer care experience
- Intermediate to Advanced PC knowledge
- Ability to navigate multiple screens and systems
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to work specified shift and extended hours as necessary
