Our Data Ventures team is a key part of this effort, working closely with our US stores and e-commerce business to empower our customers, stores, and traders with technological innovation.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced full stack data scientist to join our Data Ventures team. As a staff data scientist, you will be responsible for leading all data science-related work, including customer data science initiatives, and mentoring junior colleagues. You will work closely with our US stores and e-commerce business to develop actionable, customer-centric insights and help traders and providers make better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Data Source Identification: Identify the most relevant data sources for required information, considering external assets as needed. Perform preliminary data quality tests on extracted data.

• Problem Formulation: Analyze business problems within your area of expertise and challenge assumptions to help the business understand the root cause. Identify and recommend solutions to business problems, setting data analytics, big data analytics, and automation goals and deliverables based on setup achievement standards.
• Analytical Modeling: Select suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with large-scale, multiple established and unstructured data sets. Develop variables and functions iteratively based on model responses in collaboration with the business. Conduct exploratory data analysis activities (e.g., basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on to-be-had data.
• Model Deployment & Scaling: Ability to work with MLOps to push ML models to production. Continuously log and track model behavior once deployed against described metrics.
• Code Development & Testing: Write code to develop the specified solution and application capabilities by identifying the right programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements.
• Applied Business Acumen: Evaluate proposed business cases for projects and initiatives. Influence business stakeholder decision-making. Translate business requirements into strategies, projects, and initiatives and align them to business method and goals and drive the execution of deliverables.
• Model Assessment & Validation: Identify and review model assessment metrics based on analytical requirements. Apply appropriate strategies for model testing and tuning to evaluate accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness.
• Data Visualization and Storyteller: Identify and recommend the most appropriate visualization tools based on context. Generate suitable graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Understand customer requirements to design suitable data representation for complex data sets and drive User Experience designers and User Interface engineers to build the front-end applications.

What You'll Bring

* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field.

• Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science in general.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R.
• Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior colleagues.
• Implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc.
• Clearly communicate with business, product, and application partners.
• Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language.
• Ability to present to management, including outside clients.
