Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines team. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical patterns and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. You will assist in using data to create, present, and suggest innovative ideas and projects, as well as perform basic analysis to mitigate the risk of resistance through process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in ideal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.

• Help with creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
• Assist with exploring ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
• Present insights, patterns, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
• Help with creating and disseminating specific questions to pull and coordinate data from various sources, establishing the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
• Identify irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and convey findings to the team.
• Assess the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors
• Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision
• May perform other work duties as directed by Group Leader.

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of data with care and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and convey ideas and present results in writing, verbally, or through presentations to diverse audiences.
• Ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred.
• Ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide suggestions using logic and reasoning.
• Willingness to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred.
• Past internship, capstone project, or research coursework experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help-oriented climate.
• Ability to focus on responsibilities seriously and be a self-motivated individual.
• Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
• Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science)

• Experience with programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Familiarity with data mining and machine learning techniques.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Work Environment and Culture

* Work environment flexibility for half of the time is normally available, but interns are expected to be on-site for Assistant-related events.

• Interns will be provided with any necessary equipment, such as a computer, for the internship.
