Job Description:
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining our data warehouse and data mart infrastructure, ensuring high data quality and availability. You will work closely with our data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop data solutions that meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop data warehouse and data mart infrastructure using large data sets (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Develop ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) using languages such as Python, Scala, and SQL
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy data solutions
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our customers (Data Science, Data Analysis teams)
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and cycle improvements
Key Capabilities:
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Strong knowledge of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
- You are a problem solver with strong analytical and logical skills
Ideal Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
