Job Summary
We're seeking Part Time/Casual Customer Service & Sales Assistants to join our team at arenaflex Retail Services. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and contributing to the success of our retail operations. This is a part-time, casual position (19 hours per week or less), with variable schedules based on business needs and work performance.
Responsibilities
As a Part Time/Casual Customer Service & Sales Assistant at arenaflex Retail Services, you'll be responsible for:
- Providing legendary customer service, including greeting and welcoming customers, demonstrating active selling, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience
- Assisting with visual merchandising, including setting up seasonal promotions and visual displays, and maintaining the appearance of the sales floor
- Operating cash registers, assisting customers with check-out, and executing cash handling procedures
- Supporting inventory and order fulfillment, including receiving and processing incoming merchandise, and assisting with special orders and store-to-store shipping requests
- Providing customer care, including responding to customer inquiries and supporting the digital and in-store shopping experience
- Working successfully as part of a team, being dependable in attendance and punctuality, and flexible in scheduling based on business needs
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A pleasant personality, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for working with the public
- Moderate computer/systems competency and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to occasionally climb ladders, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed, and stand for long periods of time
- Prior retail sales experience is helpful but not required
- Familiarity with Cornell's COVID-19 workplace guidance and the university's COVID-19 services and information
