What You'll Be Doing
As a Customer Support Representative, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Answering inbound calls from individuals seeking assistance with public benefit programs enrollment
- Interacting with customers in a professional, empathetic, and compassionate manner, providing personalized support and guidance
- Providing information in accordance with established policies, procedures, and privacy laws
- Assisting customers with program enrollment, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience
- Routing customers to the appropriate contacts via three-way calls to ensure a seamless call transfer
- Assisting customers with their communication needs, including relay services for callers with speech or hearing impairments, translation services for callers who don't speak English, and more
- Placing outbound calls as needed to share time-sensitive information with customers
- Using multiple computer systems to access data and document information
About You
To succeed as a Customer Support Representative, you should possess:
- At least one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or human services setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Great active listening skills, with the ability to understand and address customer concerns
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document information and resolve issues
- Strong PC skills, including the ability to quickly learn new computer applications and navigate multiple systems
- A positive attitude, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to adapt to change and prioritize tasks effectively
- The ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable programs, policies, and procedures
- Good problem-solving and de-escalation skills, with the ability to resolve customer issues efficiently and effectively
- The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, with a strong commitment to data security and integrity
Your Home Office Environment
To work as a Customer Support Representative, you will need:
- A computer meeting the following criteria:
+ Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (Macs and Chromebooks are not supported at this time) + Memory: 8GB of RAM + CPUs (Speed

- Access to high-speed, hardwired internet (no Wi-Fi or Satellite, please)
- Dual monitors
- A USB noise-cancelling headset
- A webcam for your certification experience
Flexible Hours of Operation
As a Customer Support Representative, you will enjoy flexible scheduling, where you use a self-scheduling platform to select when you work and when you don't, within the client's hours of operation. The hours of operation are:
- Monday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
- Tuesday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET
- Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 01:00 PM ET
- Thursday and Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM ET
Pay and Perks
This flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $13 per hour.
