Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and help us develop and support cloud-based data pipelines that drive business insights and inform strategic decisions. As a Data Engineer, you'll work closely with our Choice Science, Client, and Innovation colleagues to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that meet the evolving needs of our business. You'll be responsible for a range of tasks, including data requirements gathering, source-to-target planning, data validation, and ETL/ELT pipeline development and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines that meet business requirements
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL (Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, and GitLab
- Design and implement data sets, tables, and views to support business analytics and reporting
- Deliver high-quality data sets to support science models and visualizations
- Work with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize data requirements
- Develop and maintain automated workflows and schedulers to ensure data pipeline efficiency and reliability
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of data pipelines
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for data engineering
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL pipeline development and support
- Strong experience with Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Experience with containerization using Docker
- Experience with source control using GitLab or GitHub
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies
- Proficiency in cloud architecture and product development, ideally with AWS
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Experience with machine learning and data science frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
