The Role As a Systems Programmer at Kyndryl, you'll have the opportunity to shape the very foundation of the technology that drives our world. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. You'll be a master troubleshooter and problem-solver, with the skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise. In this role, you'll provide the underlying Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming support that forms the backbone of our applications. You'll guide functional objectives on technologies and make use of your expert knowledge to drive solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead IMS System Administration and Maintenance: Plan, execute, and manage IMS system updates, preventive maintenance, and installation of IBM IMS products and related tools. Ensure System Performance and Security: Monitor mainframe environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement security measures to maintain compliance and high availability. Collaborate and Drive Process Improvements: Work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, automate tasks using scripting, and enhance operational efficiency. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Experience with IMS (Information Management System) system programmer and support Proficiency with tools like SMP/E for software installation and maintenance Experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and software testing Ability to plan and execute IMS system updates Experience installing preventive and on-demand maintenance for IBM IMS products, IMS database utilities, and third-party IMS tools Experience with DB2, z/OS, Service Now, NetView, FTP, SFTP, Connect: Direct, JCL IBM Utilities, etc., ideally in a complex GDPS environment Advanced English (direct communication with global client) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Proficiency in Assembler, Java, REXX and Python for automation and integration.
