Job Summary
As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you'll play a critical role in our Incident Response Team, working closely with experts to analyze, mitigate, and recover from digital threats. You'll have the opportunity to work on real-world digital challenges, develop your skills in emergency management, threat assessment, and collaboration, and contribute to the development of innovative cybersecurity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to provide high-quality technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards.
- Manage project timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT groups.
- Participate in system and acceptance testing.
- Scope of work varies depending on the team project.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information technology, cybersecurity).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Fundamental knowledge of data security and threat mitigation standards, theories, and practices.
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement is preferred.
- Major understanding of project management systems, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of technical environment required.
- Openness to Agile philosophies preferred.
- Coursework or experience related to network security preferred.
- Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines.
- Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year preferred.
- Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition preferred.
- Functions well in a culture that is open, direct, conscious, gracious, and empathetic.
- Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a cybersecurity or IT-related field.
- Familiarity with industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks and regulations.
- Experience with threat intelligence, incident response, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Knowledge of cloud security, virtualization, and containerization.
- Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
