Job Description:
As a Lead Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing and developing data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients, sponsors, and content partners. You will work closely with our Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to create innovative data products and services that drive business growth and improve customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the design and development of data products and services that meet the evolving needs of our clients, sponsors, and content partners
- Plan and develop versatile data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in big data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative data products and services that drive business growth and improve customer experiences
- Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
- Work with Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups)
- Be a proactive member and supporter of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Solid SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experience with distributed frameworks like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Solid understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud advances like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent analytical and relational abilities
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools
