Experienced Customer Service Representative - Payments and Digital Strategy Team

As a customer service representative on our Payments and Digital Strategy team, you'll be responsible for providing top-notch support to our customers, addressing their concerns, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. You'll be working with a variety of customers, including individuals and businesses, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as:

  • Check processing and balancing
  • Direct deposit and budget transfer processing
  • Fraud resolution and member inquiries
  • Accounting and financial analysis
  • Compliance with NACHA regulations and Federal Banking laws

What You'll Do

As a customer service representative on our Payments and Digital Strategy team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing daily tasks related to check processing, balancing, and direct deposit processing
  • Coordinating with vendors, the Federal Reserve, and other institutions to resolve issues and complete tasks
  • Assisting other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Working with customers to resolve issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Following and maintaining guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with NACHA regulations and Federal Banking laws
  • Processing mortgage bills, multi-account and member deposits, credit card bills, and other transactions, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff transactions
  • Reviewing, examining, and approving remote deposit, mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Logging, reviewing, and making necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
  • Processing stop pays and check batching
  • Completing daily balancing and department closing
  • Obtaining information from customers for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic budget transfer requests
  • Researching and verifying incoming and outgoing budget transfer information
  • Communicating with vendors to process budget transfers
  • Understanding and being familiar with outgoing and incoming budget transfer laws
  • Depositing check returns, reviewing member check returns on draft changes, processing member checks, verifying customers for outgoing budget transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing budget transfers
  • Completing daily processing of workflows associated with overdue returns, supply of receipts, international collections, and legal fees

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school degree or GED
  • Intermediate Excel and Word experience
  • Previous customer/member service experience
  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience
  • Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work prolonged hours in aid of business needs
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and review data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits under high volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any position assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and customers
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong employer skills and ability for attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time limits
  • Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance
  • Must pass relevant arenaflex and Credit Union pre-employment compliance exams
