Job Description:
We're seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, USA. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. Your expertise in big data, cloud computing, and data engineering will enable you to drive business growth, improve customer experiences, and contribute to the success of arenaflex.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the design and development of data solutions and data warehouses, including ETL pipelines in big data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Collaborate with data engineers, data modelers, and data architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (data science, data analysis teams)
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team well-being and cycle improvements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and big data
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Apache Beam) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
- Familiarity with data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
- Experience with agile/scrum approaches
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
- Experience with data visualization tools and technologies
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts
