Job Summary
As a Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you'll work as an extended business office representative on behalf of our clients, providing exceptional customer service and support to patients and their families. You'll be responsible for explaining medical bills, answering questions, and resolving account balances with patients over the phone. If you're a caring and talented individual with excellent communication skills, we want to talk to you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Using empathy and fantastic listening, verbal, and written communication skills to help patients and their families understand confusing and often unexpected medical bills
- Providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients over the phone on affordable payment plans and taking payments by phone
- Using your computer proficiency, organization, and attention to detail to accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems throughout each day
- Supporting your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus
- Continuously improving, with supportive coaching/feedback from your manager and team leads and ongoing training
Essential Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in patient billing and customer service
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing processes
- Certification in customer service or a related field
- Experience working in a remote or work-from-home environment
