Job Summary
As an Experienced Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you will work as an extended business office representative on behalf of our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to work with patients and their families to explain their medical bills, answer any questions they may have, and resolve account balances with them. You will be the patient advocate, providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients over the phone on affordable payment plans and taking payments by phone.
Key Responsibilities:
* Using empathy and fantastic listening, verbal, and written communication skills to help patients and their families understand confusing, and often times unexpected, medical bills.
- Provide outstanding customer service and collaborate with patients over the phone on affordable payment plans, and taking payments by phone.
- Using your computer proficiency, organization, and attention to detail to accurately document all calls and follow-ups in our software systems throughout each day.
- Supporting your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and caring team focus.
- Continuously improving, with supportive coaching / feedback from your manager and team leads and ongoing training.
Essential Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
- Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in healthcare billing or customer service
- Certification in customer service or a related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
