Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient experiences, providing courteous and efficient service, and assisting our pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Registering sales on assigned cash register and providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service
  • Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
  • Resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Recommending items for sale to customers and recommending trade-up and/or companion items
  • Processing prescriptions, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions
  • Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
  • Reporting prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhering to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
  • Handling telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians
  • Processing manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assisting and supporting Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals
  • Ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products)
  • Constructing and maintaining displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise
  • Assisting with separation of food items (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked) and product placement as specified by policies/procedures
  • Providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine
  • Assisting with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or pharmacy technician training preferred
  • PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment

  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems and equipment
  • Experience with inventory management and control
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
