Job Summary
As a Network Protection Examiner Understudy, you will work closely with our Incident Response Team to analyze, mitigate, and recover from digital threats. You will collaborate with experts to develop quick response plans and enhance our security measures. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in emergency management, threat assessment, and collaboration, setting you up for a successful career in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with business clients to conduct needs analysis related to systems and business processes to develop high-quality technical solutions
- Ensure solutions are aligned with internal tooling, business processes, and compliance with departmental standards
- Manage project timelines for planning, coding, testing, and implementation to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget
- Serve as a resource to ensure effective communication between business and IT groups
- Participate in system and acceptance testing
- Scope of work varies depending on the team project
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Fundamental knowledge of data security and threat mitigation standards, theories, and practices
- Experience or exposure to Proofpoint PhishAlarm preferred
- Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Administration, Risk and Compliance (GRC) preferred
- Essential knowledge of business analysis, process modeling, and improvement preferred
- Major understanding of project management systems, including the ability to design, manage, and maintain a complex, organization-wide program preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders preferred
- Fundamental knowledge of technical environment required
- Openness to Agile philosophies preferred
- Coursework or experience related to Network Security preferred
- Ability to remain organized and manage multiple and simultaneous tasks under tight deadlines preferred
- Past investigator entry-level position experience within the past year preferred
- Experience resolving business issues in a capstone or case competition preferred
- Functions well in a culture that is open, direct, conscious, gracious, and empathetic
- Fast learner, self-motivated, team-oriented, with a sense of humor
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a cybersecurity role or related field
- Knowledge of threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
- Familiarity with cloud security and compliance frameworks
- Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment
- Knowledge of compliance regulations, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR
