Job Summary

As a Student Loan Advisor, you'll play a vital role in supporting our customers with their student loan queries, providing detailed information, processing applications, and resolving any emerging issues that may arise. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization and establish a long-term career in a dynamic and supportive environment. With the possibility of working from home after 90 days, you'll have the flexibility to balance your work and personal life while still delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

* Respond to incoming calls, use chat, and complete outbound calls as necessary to assist customers with their student loan queries

  • Provide detailed information, process applications, and resolve any emerging issues that may arise
  • Practice active listening, empathy, and clear communication to ensure a positive and professional customer experience
  • Utilize standard technology, such as a telephone, email, and web browser, to navigate and complete tasks efficiently
  • Follow established and documented policies and standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist callers with filling out their application and submitting it electronically to the plan provider for processing
  • Complete basic call log, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry

Schedule

Our Customer Contact Center operates on the following schedule:

  • Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
  • Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm

Preferred Skills

* High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
  • Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
  • Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system
  • Ability to effectively work within established key performance indicators/metrics
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks

Requirements

* Ability to navigate various systems and browsers

  • Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Knowledge of contact center technology
  • Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word
  • Excellent command of the English language, effective use of grammar skills
  • Excellent communication etiquette
  • Great customer service skills, including personalization, competence, patience, politeness, and initiative-taking
