Project Canis is a nonprofit organization founded by students at the University of Florida to support animal welfare by crafting sustainable pet toys. The organization focuses on improving the emotional and physical well-being of shelter cats and dogs in Florida by creating and donating toys made from recycled materials. Many shelters face challenges in obtaining sufficient toy donations due to financial constraints, and Project Canis works to bridge this gap. The initiative is deeply committed to promoting sustainability while helping shelter animals lead happier, healthier lives. Role Description This is a volunteer and remote role for an Outreach Coordinator. The Outreach Coordinator will focus on engaging with local communities, managing relationships with animal shelters, and raising awareness about Project Canis's mission. Responsibilities include conducting outreach campaigns, researching potential partners, supporting communication strategies, and assisting in community engagement efforts to increase donations and participation in the organization’s initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Writing skills for creating outreach content and fostering partnerships
- Customer Service and Community Outreach experience to effectively engage with supporters and shelter representatives
- Ability to conduct Research to identify outreach opportunities and appropriate stakeholders

- Passion for animal welfare and sustainability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
