Job Summary

As a Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist – part time, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families while resolving medical billing and insurance-related issues. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that all calls are answered and handled appropriately, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and courtesy. This is a fully remote opportunity, and you'll have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities

* Review and identify issues from calls into the telephony system in a timely manner (50%)

  • Maintain a working knowledge of workflow systems to properly assign follow-up dates, department requests, and notate appropriately (10%)
  • Ensure all calls within business hours are answered and handled appropriately while providing exceptionally high customer service to callers within company guidelines (10%)
  • Perform payment transactions and request payment from accounts reflecting a balance (10%)
  • Assist with clerical duties as needed, such as email, facsimile, etc. (10%)
  • Requires close supervision and guidance from the supervisor (10%)

Essential Qualifications

* 1+ years of medical revenue cycle experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of medical revenue cycle experience

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical billing and insurance procedures
  • Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CMC)

Skills and Competencies

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
