Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:
- Performing thorough quality assessments on medical claims and bills to ensure system accuracy
- Inputting accurate information for any missing or erroneous data that the system may not capture
- Validating system-generated data and ensuring timely and precise entry of UB (Uniform Billing) or itemization (IB) charges into our database
- Employing proprietary OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to implement necessary data corrections or amendments
- Cross-referencing patient and provider information, along with general UB details, ensuring accuracy upon file receipt and prior to data entry
- Inputting breakdown charges (itemization) into our system as required
- Upholding daily production volume expectations and quality control protocols
- Maintaining strict HIPAA compliance during all communications and data handling
- Assisting team members by providing support, including onboarding and training new employees as needed
- Undertaking additional tasks as directed
Required Skills
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Proficiency in typing at a speed of 40+ words per minute, with strong accuracy in both Alpha and 10-Key (8,000 keystrokes per hour with 90%+ accuracy)
- Exceptional attention to detail and independent problem-solving abilities
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently, efficiently navigating between various windows and systems
- Familiarity with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software is advantageous
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
While previous experience in data entry is preferred, it is not mandatory. However, you must possess:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
