Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced and flexible Chat Moderator to join our remote team. As a Chat Moderator, you'll be responsible for maintaining a positive and respectful community on our official Discord server. This part-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team, develop your skills, and contribute to a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Moderate the chat of our official Discord server, ensuring that all users adhere to our community guidelines and rules.
- Delete messages that violate our community standards, including but not limited to:
+ Hate speech + Harassment + Spam + Self-promotion
- Ban users who repeatedly violate our community guidelines, after thorough investigation and review.
- Mute users who have violated our community standards, to prevent further disruptions.
- Investigate reports made by users about potential rule violations, and take necessary actions to resolve the issue.
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement community guidelines, ensuring that they are clear, concise, and effective.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to user inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in community management and moderation.
Essential Qualifications:
* 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Familiarity with Discord and community management platforms
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in community management, moderation, or a related field
- Knowledge of community guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Familiarity with online safety and security best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
