About McLaren Health Plan and MDwise, Inc.
McLaren Health Plan is our Michigan-based health plan, dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of our Michigan members. Position Summary
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for handling daily member telephone calls, providing education and support, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. You'll work closely with our Medical Management Department to ensure seamless authorization of services and create linkages to the proper services needed. Additionally, you may assist providers with eligibility, benefit, and resolution of claims issues.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle daily member telephone calls, providing education and support on various healthcare topics
- Direct members to the proper services needed, including creating linkages to the Medical Management Department for authorization of services
- Assist providers with eligibility, benefit, and resolution of claims issues
- Problem-solve and resolve member complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and service delivery
- Meet or exceed performance metrics and quality standards
Essential Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- One (1) year experience in a customer service-related role with direct contact with customers via telephone, email, chat, and/or face-to-face
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
Preferred Qualifications
* One (1) year experience in a physician healthcare office environment or high-volume call center
- One (1) year experience and knowledge of HMO, PPO, TPA, PHO, and Managed Care functions
- Experience with healthcare software applications and systems
- Certification in customer service or a related field
