To learn more visit : https://www.conservation.ca.gov/ The Department of Conservation’s Enterprise Technology Services Division (ETSD) is seeking to hire one motivated Student Assistant to join our team. This position offers students a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in information technology while supporting staff who help power the department’s technology services. As a Student Assistant, you will work closely with our Service Desk team and other IT professionals who support employees across the Department of Conservation. This role is ideal for students interested in careers in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, application development, enterprise systems, or any related field.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee.   • *Prerequisites**

Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list. Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering

  • *Work Schedule**

Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.

  • *Additional Work Schedule**

Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).

  • *Compensation**

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour

  • *Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of computers, including Windows operating systems, common software applications, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to assist users in a professional manner.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and follow technical instructions.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow IT security policies when handling department systems and data.
  • *Preferred Qualifications
  • Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority.
