Experienced Part-time Remote Data Entry Operator – Customer Service Division

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Operator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Entering information with a high degree of speed and accuracy into our customer information system and other Public Works software
  • Establishing and maintaining utility accounts, verifying account eligibility and accessibility, and preparing files for mass customer communications
  • Assisting with mailing billing statements and other notices generated in-house, and scanning or retaining documents as needed
  • Performing monthly audits of incomplete account transfer requests and entering data into Key Performance Indicator tracking databases
  • Preparing, distributing, and completing work orders, and performing other related duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Two (2) years of experience as a high-volume data entry operator or typist
  • Excellent computer skills, typing, and accuracy, with the ability to pass computer skills, typing, and accuracy, and 10-key skills testing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • An Associate's degree in business administration, data entry, or a related field
  • Two (2) years of experience as a high-volume data entry operator or typist
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments

  • Excellent data entry skills, with the ability to enter information quickly and accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and ability to learn new software and systems quickly
