Focus Areas in arenaflex's Data Platform
We have several focus areas within our data platform, each with its unique challenges and opportunities:
- Database Access Stage: This team builds and operates a flexible query interface that works with data reflections to achieve sub-millisecond latencies while enabling Netflix microservices to store, consume, and manage their data more effectively.
- Data Stage Foundation: This team serves as a platform for our own data stages, providing a common framework and tooling that enables arenaflex to rapidly enhance on giving cutting-edge data and analytics frameworks to the rest of the organization without building customized platforms for each new framework.
- Big Data Figure: This team is responsible for providing the cloud-native stage for distributed data processing at arenaflex, offering support for Flash, ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB.
- Big Data Arrangement: This team offers the stage for planning, organizing, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way, providing basic services that have all ETL and ML responsibilities running on Big Data Frameworks at arenaflex.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking talented Distributed Systems Engineers who are passionate about building scalable, reliable, and highly available distributed systems. If you're excited about:
- Addressing real business needs at large scale by applying your programming and logical thinking skills
- Architecting and building a strong, flexible, and highly accessible distributed foundation
- Driving cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams
- Contributing to open-source communities and adding to arenaflex's OSS
Requirements
* 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications
- Proficiency in the design and development of robust web services
- Experience in building and operating adaptable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
- Knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages
- Familiarity with multi-threading and its challenges
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
