Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
- Answering incoming calls and assisting callers with inquiries related to payment or policy status, as well as correspondence received from arenaflex
- Providing information and assistance to customers or brokers who visit our front desk
- Handling agency licensing transactions, including registering new brokers, address changes, and agency mergers
- Researching and resolving customer or broker questions and problems
- Following up with other departments to resolve problem files
- Inputting data in a desktop database for all incoming calls
- Assisting customers at the front desk when necessary
- Distributing faxes and other correspondence to the department
- Facilitating the processing of evidence of insurance requests as required
- Participating in individual and group training designed to improve service
- Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma and basic computer skills
- 1 year of insurance experience (coverage knowledge) and customer service/call center experience
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on phone skills
- Good interpersonal skills (both internal and external) and the ability to work well in a team environment
- The ability to perform slightly varied moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Sound decision-making skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
- Experience working in a call center environment
- Knowledge of insurance industry terminology and regulations
- Familiarity with desktop databases and software applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
