Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, brokers, and partners. You'll be the primary point of contact for customers, responding to their inquiries, resolving their issues, and providing them with accurate and timely information. You'll also be responsible for handling agency licensing tasks, researching and resolving customer or broker questions, and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

* Answer incoming calls and assist callers with inquiries, including but not limited to: + New business (quotation/payment status) + Renewals (payment/issuance status) + Endorsements (processing status/evidence of insurance requests) + Inspections + Deficiency letters + Cancellations/non-renewals + CEA (payment/policy/quotation status)

  • Perform daily assigned work with primary emphasis on call center activities
  • Research and resolve customer or broker questions/problems
  • Handle agency licensing tasks (registering new brokers, address changes, agency mergers, etc.)
  • Follow up with other departments to resolve problem files
  • Input data in a desktop database for all incoming calls
  • Assist customers at the front desk when necessary
  • Distribute faxes and other correspondence to the department
  • Facilitate the processing of evidence of insurance requests as required
  • Participate in individual and group training designed to improve service
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma and basic computer skills required

  • 1 year of insurance experience (coverage knowledge) and customer service/call center experience required
  • Exhibit good communication skills with emphasis on phone skills
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills (both internal and external) and work well in a team environment
  • Perform slightly varied moderately complex tasks
  • Exercise occasional decision making and judgment
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience in a customer service or call center environment

  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferably with a focus on customer service
  • Proficiency in desktop databases and software applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
