Cloud Engineer

We are seeking candidates to support the growth for our cloud platform. This role reports to the Head of Engineering. You will manage cloud infrastructure initiatives in our AWS Control Tower environment; and you will wear many hats. Sidekick Solutions delivers platform services to its customers on AWS, including data automation, data migration staging, storage, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing. Candidates that interview for this position will be required to relate their skills and experience directly to the platform services delivered at Sidekick Solutions. Job Description / Responsibilities We are seeking candidates to support the growth for our cloud platform. This role reports to the Head of Engineering. You will manage cloud infrastructure initiatives in our AWS Control Tower environment; and you will wear many hats. We’re looking for an individual that will put hands on the keyboard to develop new products, interface between business and technical stakeholders, maintain the platform, and maintain our development standards. On this team, you will:

• Be accountable for service quality and cost efficiency of our platform.
• Design and develop cloud infrastructure, applications, and services from spec to release.
• Use Terraform and Github Actions as part of our software development and product life cycles.
• Set up logging, monitors, and alerts; and analyze logs to optimize services.
• Collaborate with Support teams on incidents and tickets.
• Implement security measures for our compliance frameworks: SOC 2 and HIPAA.

This role requires a “can do,” solution-oriented attitude that can integrate feedback from both business and technical stakeholders. Individuals that apply should be motivated by rapid improvement, design iteration, and the pursuit of exceptional service quality with a profit focus. Skills / Qualifications

• 2+ years of cloud development, software development, or application development
• Proficient in Terraform and GitHub Actions deployment in an AWS environment
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or pursuing the certification soon
• Demonstrated experience engineering platform services on AWS by referencing prior projects, their stated objective, obstacles faced, and results achieved
• Able to present your engineering methods, approaches, standards, and conventions
• Prior experience with accountability to an cloud engineering initiative/project
• Prior experience deploying and maintaining APIs
• Prior experience using Python, PowerShell, Go or Bash
• Proficient using Terraform infrastructure as code and Github
• Proficient with development productivity measures (i.e. release cadence, bugs, CI/CD pipelines)
• Practical understanding of operating systems, databases (MySQL and MS SQL), javascript programming, networking, containerization (Docker/ECS), virtualization (primarily windows), security/availability/recovery
• Strong self organization and productivity skills; experience with productivity tools (Asana preferred) and time tracking are required

Compensation / Benefits

• Compensation dependent on experience and skills, range $100,000 - $126,000 per year
