About arenaflex's Risk Finance Group

arenaflex's Risk Finance group is responsible for planning, forecasting, and evaluating global Loss Provision and Credit Reserves. The team provides credit-related decision support to Risk Management, local Finance, and business groups on underwriting, customer management, credit, and collections activities. As a Director Data Science, you'll be at the forefront of this effort, leading the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to drive business growth and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Director Data Science, you'll be responsible for leading the strategic evaluation of arenaflex credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the Global Data Strategy: Develop and implement a centralized reporting capability, process enhancements, and automation to drive revolutionary information answers and strong forecasts and analytics for the wider Risk Finance organization.
• Data Asset Management: Own precise information assets/packages inside Risk Finance, and become a subject matter expert of the applicable tools (troubleshoot issues, reconcile results, identify enhancements and automation possibilities, and teach different customers to drive adoption).
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and maintain preferred and ad-hoc reviews utilized by Risk Finance and/or business partners; provide credit-related analytical support.
• Key Analyses and Recommendations: Develop and present key analyses and suggestions to Senior Management.
• Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships throughout Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, etc.
• Analytics-Driven Decision Making: Provide decision-aid with a strong emphasis on growing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio which may be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• Advanced Experience: Operating with a maximum of the following is required: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1.
• Excel and PowerPoint Expertise: Experience operating with a sophisticated degree of Excel and PowerPoint required.
• ML Modeling: Experience in ML modeling is a plus.
• Economic and Analytical Skills: Solid economic and analytical skills; ability to work with big units of data and draw significant conclusions, empowering our business partners to make smart, data-driven decisions.
• Attention to Detail: Superior interest in details, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Results-Driven: Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight timelines.
• Ambiguity Tolerance: Desire to work on ambiguous tasks, growing clarity while achieving successful and significant outcomes.
• Strong Work Ethic and Interpersonal Skills: A robust work-ethic and strong interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to build and maintain relationships and successfully collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
• Master's Degree: Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $55.00 to $85.00 hourly + bonus + equity (if relevant) + benefits. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
