Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Administrative Services Assistant to join our remote team. As an Administrative Services Assistant, you'll be responsible for providing professional staff work of routine through average difficulty to relieve an executive of administrative detail. You'll also perform related work as required, including acting as a liaison between executive's office and various stakeholders, handling complaints and requests, and attending legislative functions and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide professional staff work of routine through average difficulty to relieve an executive of administrative detail

  • Act as a liaison between executive's office and various stakeholders, including the governor's office, departmental staff, and other state departments and agencies, local and federal agencies, and community organizations and groups
  • Handle complaints and requests from members of the legislature and other departments, citizens, and employees
  • Attend legislative functions and meetings as required to gain information
  • Assign, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned clerical and other staff and their work
  • Make recommendations on personnel actions such as employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, retention, and increases for exceptional performance
  • Handle routine correspondence, including composition of replies and routing to the appropriate operating division for reply
  • Prepare non-routine correspondence as requested
  • Assemble information for speeches, staff meetings, and other purposes
  • Take minutes at staff meetings
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Keep expense accounts
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Operate standard office machines and equipment as necessary

Essential Qualifications

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree

  • Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub-professional experience or paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years
  • 1 year of experience in data entry (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in customer service (required)

* Experience working in a remote environment

  • Experience working with various software applications and systems
  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Experience in providing administrative support to executive-level staff

Skills and Competencies

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes quickly

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package, including:
