Job Brief

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Data Entry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our data management team, you'll be responsible for accurately transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems. You'll work closely with our data managers and senior team members to ensure that our data is up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible through our digital database.

Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Typing in data provided directly from customers
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
  • Updating existing data
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Requirements and Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk, preferably in a similar industry
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written, as well as customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent

Essential Qualifications

While a degree is not required, we're looking for candidates with:

  • 1-2 years of experience in data entry or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

If you have:

  • Experience working with databases or data management software
  • Knowledge of data confidentiality principles and practices
  • Familiarity with arenaflex's products and services
  • Certification in data entry or a related field
