[Remote] Bioinformatics Scientist I - Clinical Labs and R&D Group

They are seeking a motivated Bioinformatics Scientist I to apply advanced knowledge in bioinformatics and computational biology to support clinical labs and R&D groups, collaborating closely on high-impact projects involving complex data interpretation and algorithm development.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Data Analysis: Perform sophisticated analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, or proteomic datasets using state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools and pipelines
- Algorithm Development and Optimization: Develop, refine, and implement algorithms for data processing, including sequence alignment, variant calling, gene expression analysis, and network biology
- Software Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of bioinformatics software tools and pipelines, ensuring they meet the research needs of the team
- Collaborative Research: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing bioinformatics expertise to support ongoing research projects and studies
- Data Interpretation and Reporting: Analyze and interpret complex biological data, preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Literature Review and Research: Stay abreast of the latest bioinformatics methodologies and advancements, integrating new approaches into ongoing projects
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide guidance to junior team members or interns, sharing your expertise and contributing to a collaborative learning environment Skills
- Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python, R, Perl, or Java
- Experience with high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq) and familiarity with bioinformatics tools like BLAST, GATK, Bowtie, and others
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex datasets and derive meaningful insights
- Previous research experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey complex technical information to both scientific and non-scientific audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or a related field
