Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Albany, NY. As a CSR, you'll be responsible for providing top-notch customer care to individuals seeking healthcare coverage. You'll work closely with our team to ensure that every caller receives the highest levels of knowledge and professionalism. This role requires 10 days of onsite training, followed by the opportunity to work remotely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:

  • Processing new applications for healthcare coverage via telephone, including building tax household, household income, eligibility determinations, interpreting determinations made by the Marketplace, and enrollment into health plans.
  • Processing life event changes, demographic updates, disenrollment requests, and special enrollment periods as requested.
  • Responding to all inquiries consistent with confidentiality and privacy policies and referring callers to alternate sources when appropriate.
  • Escalating calls or issues to the appropriate designated staff for resolution as needed.
  • Facilitating translation services for non-English speaking callers according to procedures.
  • Attending meetings and trainings as requested and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all programs and systems.
  • Meeting Quality Assurance (QA) and other key performance metrics.
  • Adhering to established safety standards.
  • Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or GED and 6+ months of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a customer service or healthcare-related field.
  • Knowledge of healthcare plans and regulations.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
