Job Summary

As a Data Center Technician at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our server farms and cloud infrastructure. You'll be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining complex server and cabling systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities

* Install and configure business servers and cabling infrastructure

• Perform equipment break/fix substitution of FRUs (Field Replaceable Units)
• Rack installation, including placing racks in location, cabling, power up, and handoff of servers to internal provisioning groups
• Investigate and resolve Telco Availability issues
• Investigate and replace Organization Switch hardware
• Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Document activities and build/alter SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Organize cabling, naming, and testing of fiber/copper/telecom links
• Install, repair, and maintain framework power supplies and cabling
• Execute small projects independently and work with your supervisor to plan and execute larger local tasks

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, engineering, or information technology)

• 3 years of experience working in an IT environment
• Strong knowledge of server, storage, and network equipment
• Solid interest in learning new data center concepts and technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work a shift plan (4 days per week, 10-hour shifts), including weekends and holidays
• Experience handling issues on servers, networking devices, and IT hardware
• Stock management experience, including ordering, receiving, and delivering server parts
• Experience accepting on-call rotations and ability to respond to critical incidents as needed
• Experience raising issues to Sr. on-site staff and management on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Qualifications

* 2-year or 4-year degree or 3 years of experience in a related field

• 1 year of experience in organized cabling (copper/fiber), testing of links, cooling, and electrical systems concepts within a server farm
• Experience with IT equipment concepts (e.g., SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, GRUB)
• Knowledge of trunk framework is an asset
