Senior Cost Estimator
BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Cost Estimator to join our team, providing technical support in support of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center Work for Others Branch (AFCEC/CFSD) located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX. This position is a remote support position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide and utilize cost estimating software and hardware to draft itemized construction and design cost forecasts at a level of detail sufficient to aid in construction and design Contractor cost proposal analysis and establishment of Government negotiation positions.
- Prepare cost analyses to clearly articulate project means and methods that support reasonable economy and efficiency with clearly defined productivity rates. Analyses shall align with acceptable industry practices/standards and the current marketplace.
- Conduct continuous process improvement by assessing recent and relevant project data to improve the fidelity of cost projections.
- Provide cost/technical analysis support of design and construction Contractor proposals.
- Develop, maintain, utilize, and deliver to the Government an AFCEC/CFSD-specific database consisting of historical and current cost and pricing data.
- Provide monthly reporting of activities and initiatives to include, but not be limited to, lessons learned, means and methods utilized, process analyses, industry trends, assessment results, training, and proposed initiatives for continuous process improvements.
