What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

As a Customer Care Representative - Remote, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Answering Inbound Calls: Respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and issues in a professional and service-oriented manner.
  • Making Outbound Follow-up Calls: Proactively reach out to patients to ensure timely resolution of their concerns and provide personalized support.
  • Documenting Call Details: Accurately document all actions taken during calls in our proprietary software, ensuring seamless handoffs to the next team member.
  • Regular Performance Reviews: Participate in regular 1x1s and huddles with leadership for performance review and coaching.

What is Required (Qualifications)

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills: Provide timely, effective, and empathetic support to patients and families, resolving issues and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Professional Communication Skills: Clearly articulate responses, using appropriate voice modulation and tone, to ensure seamless communication.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Develop strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers, understanding their needs and concerns.
  • Independent Problem-Solving: Utilize creative problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues, working independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Attentive Listening Skills: Listen attentively to patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate understanding and resolution of their concerns.
  • Knowledge of Managed Healthcare Contracts: Interpret and apply managed healthcare contracts to provide accurate and timely support to patients and families.
  • Proficiency in Proprietary Software: Accurately document call details and actions taken in our proprietary software.

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

While not required, the following qualifications will make you an even stronger candidate:

  • High School Education or Equivalent: Possess a high school education or equivalent, with a strong foundation in communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • 1-2 Years of Experience: Bring 1-2 years of experience in an inbound call center or customer service environment, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of Hospital Patient Account Billing: Familiarity with hospital patient account billing and 3rd party reimbursements will be an asset in this role.
