Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Remote Data Entry Assistant to join our team in the Central Billing Office, Palmer Building. In this role, you will be responsible for handling high volumes of charge and payment transactions, transcribing data from source documents, and reviewing and accepting charge sessions from assigned charge work queues. You will also be responsible for assisting in other clerical assignments, such as scanning, filing, mail processing/delivery, and patient registration.

Key Responsibilities

* Handle high volumes of charge and payment transactions while meeting accuracy and production standards

  • Transcribe data from source documents and enter into computer system
  • Review and accept charge sessions from assigned charge work queues with a high level of accuracy
  • Analyze charges to determine when required information is not provided or there is a discrepancy in the information given
  • Refer to appropriate individuals for follow-up when necessary
  • Review insurance explanation of benefits to ensure that appropriate payments and adjustments are applied according to contractual requirements
  • Assist in other clerical assignments, such as scanning, filing, mail processing/delivery, and patient registration

Minimum Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two years of data entry experience or a combination of related education and experience preferred
  • Excellent typing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in data

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare or billing environment

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
  • Experience with data entry software and systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
