Financial Accountant

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. You will play a key role in month-end processes, statutory reporting, payroll support, and general finance operations.

Month-End Tasks

  • Manage key asset and liability accounts (e.g., bank & cash, prepayments, fixed assets, creditors, accruals).
  • Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations.
  • Own various month-end processes and GL account reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve reconciliation variances promptly.
  • Assist in expense analysis for management reporting.
  • Support the financial integrity of general ledgers.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance function.

Statutory Reporting

  • Assist with year-end and half-year audits for NASDAQ and ASIC compliance.
  • Support quarterly reporting requirements under NASDAQ listing.

Payroll

  • Assist with fortnightly payroll tasks (Australia and US).
  • Take ownership of payroll processing during Payroll Administrator’s leave.

General

  • Proactively identify opportunities for value creation and process improvement.
  • Comply with Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce; CPA/CA qualification or currently pursuing one.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software; NetSuite and Power BI are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proactive, innovative, and adaptable with a focus on continuous improvement.
