Financial Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting skills, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. You will play a key role in month-end processes, statutory reporting, payroll support, and general finance operations.
Month-End Tasks
- Manage key asset and liability accounts (e.g., bank & cash, prepayments, fixed assets, creditors, accruals).
- Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations.
- Own various month-end processes and GL account reconciliations.
- Identify and resolve reconciliation variances promptly.
- Assist in expense analysis for management reporting.
- Support the financial integrity of general ledgers.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance function.
Statutory Reporting
- Assist with year-end and half-year audits for NASDAQ and ASIC compliance.
- Support quarterly reporting requirements under NASDAQ listing.
Payroll
- Assist with fortnightly payroll tasks (Australia and US).
- Take ownership of payroll processing during Payroll Administrator’s leave.
General
- Proactively identify opportunities for value creation and process improvement.
- Comply with Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce; CPA/CA qualification or currently pursuing one.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software; NetSuite and Power BI are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proactive, innovative, and adaptable with a focus on continuous improvement.
