Job Summary

As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and insights across our various business units. You will work closely with our data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our data pipelines, and for identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using a range of technologies, including SQL, Python, Docker, and GitLab

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our data pipelines
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation, and develop and implement solutions to address these opportunities
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows and scripts to streamline data processing and delivery
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data engineering and cloud-based technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our data pipelines and processes

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL) and Python
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including AWS
  • Experience with Docker and GitLab
  • Strong understanding of data set design and architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based

  • Proficiency in cloud design and product development, ideally AWS
  • Experience overseeing and delivering code using a source control item like GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience using Docker
  • Strong understanding of data visualization and business intelligence tools
  • Experience with data governance and compliance
