Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, GA, NC and TX

As a Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in developing and delivering robust and scalable software solutions that support our financial operations and enhance our customer experience. You will work within an agile team to design, develop, and maintain software components, ensuring they meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Your expertise in React and Node.js will be essential in building user-friendly and efficient interfaces and backend services. You should also have strong problem-solving skills, understand performance optimization, and be familiar with testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain user interface components and web applications using React.js
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices
  • Participate in all phases of the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with product managers, analysts, developers, testers, and other cross-functional teams to define and implement solutions
  • Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to improve automation and efficiency
  • Analyze and solve technical problems, debugging and troubleshooting code issues
  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize application performance
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and potentially contribute to automated testing frameworks
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Create and maintain documentation for the codebase and its functionality
  • May mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application software programming

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • In-depth understanding of JavaScript, including ES6+ features, Loopback, closures and asynchronous programming
  • Proven experience in building user interfaces with React.js
  • Familiarity with state management libraries like Redux or MobX
  • Understanding of the React component lifecycle and its best practices
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
  • Ability to interact with REST APIs and handle data fetching and manipulation
  • Proficient in using GITLAB for version control
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and ORACLE Database systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of basic UI/UX design principles
  • Prior experience with regulated financial organization is a plus
